Great Event! Josh Fuente
BackGreat Event!
12 hours of racing on Saturday at the 1st Annual Space Coast RC event! I can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday. There were 11 classes made up of about 75 racers. And that is just for the electric races. I was honestly just too worn out to stick around for the nitro events. The track was in great shape, glad to see the track-martials sweeping their corners. That really helps keep the event moving, and is just good sportsmanship. Angel, the owner of SCRC has done a fantastic job with this facility. It is definitely a top contender for best track in the state. There was a free raffle, and quality prizes.
I raced the novice class. I ran my SC10 using a Mamba max pro esc, with the Castle 1410 2400kv 4 pole motor. Its a sensorless motor, as I personally think the novice class should be restricted to sensorless or brushed motors. IE... Novice does not equal "open". but off the soap box now... I had to gear it up a tooth on the pinion because it was a little slow on the straights. So I ended up using a 19T pinion and the stock 87T Spur... I need to get more of a variety of spur gears. Barcodes ended up being my tire choice, with some of the white tire sauce that Angel sells in the pro shop. There were 3 qualifiers, and 1 Main. I qualified 3rd for the Main, and finished 4th.
